Victory over Worldly Thinking at Work

Romans 12:1-2.  I urge you, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God - this is your acceptable worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - His good pleasing and perfect will.

A Prayer for Godly thinking at work:

Heavenly Father, in the name of my Lord Jesus Christ, I come to You in gratitude that You hear my prayer. Thank You for loving me and for caring about the things that matter to me.

Father, the desire of my heart is to have the mind of the Lord Jesus Christ. I want to think like He thinks. I want my heart and mind to line up with His. I want to see things from Your perspective, to think more like You think and feel, rather than responding to situations as the world responds.

I confess that my mind is saturated with the world's way of seeing things. Every day I fill my mind and heart with the world's perspective through the hours I spend in front of the TV, through the music and radio programs I listen to while driving, through the newspapers I read, and through all the interactions with others, who like me, have the world's viewpoint rather than Yours. I confess that I have not guarded my heart and mind as You would have me guard them. I have been careless. Help me to be a better steward of the heart and mind You have given to me. Thank you that the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ cleanses me of the times I have soaked up the world's perspective rather than spending time learning Yours.

I can't imagine how You will help me to change, but I do claim victory in the Lord Jesus Christ who has overcome the world for me. I take my stand in His triumph over sin and the Enemy. I invite You to transform my heart and mind, changing the way I look at the world and respond to situations. Make them more like Jesus', I pray.

Thank You that this is not a do-it-yourself job for me, but I can count on You for help. Examine my heart and mind, Oh Lord, and see if there be any way in me that is displeasing to You. Transform me by the power of Your Holy Spirit working in my inner person. Deliver me from double-mindedness and worldly thinking in order that I may please and serve You purely, body, mind, heart, and spirit. I reach out, now, and take hold of the renewal of my mind and heart, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen
